To be honest I had no idea there was such a thing as Peri Menopause until I happened upon it one day.. I think it was on Loose Women or something!! All of a sudden all the symptoms I'd been having for years made complete sense. I'd been having some symptoms since I was 37, but thought that there was no way it was the Menopause, I was way too young. But looking back, it was.
The night sweats, the mood swings, the sudden joint stiffness and the fatigue. I put it down to too much exercise and just getting older. But once I had a look into Peri Menopause I realised that I was probably going through it and had been for some time.
I knew that Menopause (menopause basically means period stop) was on the way, but what was disheartening was that it could actually be 10 years down the line!!
That's the thing with the menopause, no woman is the same. Some women start to get symptoms in their 30's or earlier, some not until their 50's. But I'm one who always likes to know what's going on, I like to be prepared and to "think on" like my gran used to say.
So no matter what your age, have a look at some of these symptoms and see if any ring a bell for you. Maybe you're going through the Peri Menopause right now without realising it. If so, start doing something about it now to help alleviate some of the symptoms.
